A lady has appealed to Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, to urgently address concerns surrounding emergency healthcare services in the state following the reported death of her friend’s baby.
In a video circulating on social media, the lady alleged that her friend lost her baby after the hospital where she was receiving treatment reportedly ran out of oxygen at a critical moment when the child needed immediate medical attention.
She further claimed that efforts to obtain oxygen from other hospitals proved unsuccessful, alleging that the facilities refused to open their gates to provide the necessary emergency assistance.
Expressing sadness over the incident, the lady called on Governor Peter Mbah to investigate the circumstances surrounding the reported tragedy and ensure that hospitals across the state are adequately equipped with essential medical supplies.
She also stressed the importance of prompt emergency response, urging healthcare facilities to prioritise saving lives by providing timely assistance to patients in critical conditions.
The incident has raised concerns about the availability of emergency medical equipment, inter-hospital cooperation and the need to strengthen healthcare delivery in Enugu State.
However, the allegations have not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death remain unclear.
