Suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on Logomani community in Borno State, targeting an army base and several public facilities.
The attackers reportedly set fire to a police outpost, a primary healthcare centre, and a school during the assault, causing widespread destruction in the community.
Security sources said troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle. One soldier was confirmed dead, while several of the attackers were reportedly neutralised. The remaining terrorists fled the area.
Military authorities have since reinforced security in the community and launched operations to track down the fleeing insurgents. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant as efforts continue to restore normalcy.
