Nigerian troops have neutralized six terrorists and rescued an underage girl during a successful security operation in Zamfara State.

According to military sources, the operation was carried out in the Sububu Forest following actionable intelligence on the movement and location of armed terrorist elements in the area. During the offensive, troops engaged the criminals in a gun battle, resulting in the elimination of six of them, while several others fled with gunshot wounds.

The soldiers also dismantled identified terrorist enclaves within the forest, destroying hideouts and recovered arms, ammunition, motorcycles, and other logistics believed to have been used for violent attacks and kidnappings.

During the operation, an underage girl who had been abducted by the terrorists was rescued alive. She has since been taken to safety and is receiving necessary care, while efforts are ongoing to reunite her with her family.

The military assured residents of continued aggressive operations to flush out criminal elements from Zamfara and neighboring states, reaffirming its commitment to restoring peace and security in the North-West region.
