Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt along the Wukari–Ikyior Road in Taraba State, rescuing two victims.
According to security sources, the soldiers were on routine patrol when they encountered suspected kidnappers attempting to abduct the victims. Upon sighting the troops, the criminals abandoned their captives and fled into the surrounding bush to avoid arrest.
The two rescued victims were safely recovered without injuries and have since been reunited with their families. The army has assured residents of continued patrols and intensified operations to flush out criminal elements and ensure the safety of commuters and communities in the area.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies.
