In a major boost to peace and security efforts, no fewer than 80 militants have surrendered a large cache of weapons in Cross River State after embracing the state government’s amnesty programme.
The militants, who reportedly operated across parts of the state, laid down assorted arms and ammunition as part of ongoing efforts to end violence, criminal activities, and unrest in the region.
