The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lekan Jimoh, a notorious drug kingpin who had been on the run for over a decade.
Jimoh was declared wanted in connection with the killing of three NDLEA officers during an operation 12 years ago. According to the agency, he allegedly masterminded the attack that led to the officers’ deaths while they were carrying out their official duties.
After years of intelligence gathering and surveillance, NDLEA operatives finally tracked and apprehended Jimoh in a coordinated operation. His arrest brings to an end a long manhunt that had made him one of the agency’s most wanted suspects.
NDLEA officials described the arrest as a major breakthrough and a reminder that crimes against law enforcement officers will not be forgotten, no matter how long it takes. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing drug traffickers and ensuring justice for fallen officers.
Jimoh is currently in custody and is expected to be charged to court to face prosecution for his alleged crimes.
