
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Niger Delta leaders that his administration is intensifying efforts to defeat terrorism and banditry across the country, while also expanding development in the oil-producing region.
The president gave the assurance while hosting a delegation of Niger Delta leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He said security remains a top priority, noting that peace and stability are critical to economic growth and national development.
Tinubu stated that security agencies have been strengthened and are actively working to dismantle criminal networks threatening lives and livelihoods. He also reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to the Niger Delta, promising continued investment in infrastructure, environmental remediation, job creation and social welfare.
The president urged leaders of the region to maintain peace and collaborate with the federal government to achieve lasting progress.

In their response, the Niger Delta leaders thanked the president for the engagement and pledged their support for his administration, while reaffirming their commitment to peace and development in the region.
