Authorities in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State have debunked widespread social media reports alleging that worshippers were killed in a mosque within the community.
According to the LGA Chairman, the claims were completely false, misleading, and designed to create unnecessary panic. He stressed that no such attack occurred and urged the public to disregard the rumours.
The chairman also appealed to residents and social media users to verify information before sharing, warning that the spread of fake news can heighten tension and undermine security efforts in the region. Authorities assured the public that peace has not been disrupted in Sabon Birni and normal activities are ongoing.
