The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two suspected drug traffickers, identified as Ofoma Sunday and Ukachukwu Frank Ikechukwu, who recently returned from Brazil. The duo were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, upon their arrival into the country.

According to NDLEA officials, the suspects were placed under close observation after intelligence reports linked them to international drug smuggling networks. During their period in observatory custody, both men eventually excreted a shocking 116 wraps of illicit drugs, which were confirmed to be heroin and cocaine.

Investigations reveal that the drugs were carefully concealed in their bodies with the intention of bypassing airport security and smuggling them into Nigeria for distribution. NDLEA operatives have described the case as yet another disturbing instance of Nigerians being used as couriers by international cartels.

The agency has assured the public that the suspects will face the full weight of the law, stressing its unwavering commitment to rid the nation of drug-related crimes and safeguard the lives of Nigerians from the harmful effects of narcotics.
