Presidential aide Sunday Dare has defended First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s comments encouraging Nigerians to consider low-capital businesses such as selling akara and roasted corn.
Speaking on the issue, Dare shared his personal story, saying his mother sold akara, bananas, and oranges to support the family. He recalled helping her by carrying bananas to markets in Jos, Plateau State, adding that the proceeds from her trading helped pay for his education.
According to him, if such businesses could provide opportunities and sustain families decades ago, there is nothing wrong with encouraging them today.
