Residents of Lile community in Kwara State were thrown into panic late Tuesday after sightings of heavily armed bandits reportedly advancing toward the area on more than 40 motorcycles.
According to local sources, the attackers were seen moving in groups, sparking fear among villagers who immediately began taking cover and alerting security operatives.
Witnesses said the bandits appeared to be heading straight toward the community, prompting concerns of a possible invasion or mass abduction.
Residents have called for urgent intervention from security agencies to prevent another attack, warning that the movement of such a large number of armed men poses a grave threat to the entire region.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement as tension continues to rise within the community.
