The management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has expelled a 200-level Microbiology student, identified as Ezi Ugoma, for gross misconduct.According to a statement issued by the university, Ugoma was sanctioned for filming a fellow student who was in distress rather than offering assistance during a medical emergency on campus.
The university described her action as “highly insensitive and unbecoming of a student of Delta State University,” adding that the decision followed a disciplinary committee’s recommendation after a thorough investigation.
As part of the penalty, Ugoma has been expelled for four semesters, with the management warning other students to desist from similar acts that tarnish the institution’s image.The statement further reiterated DELSU’s commitment to upholding discipline, moral conduct, and compassion among its students.
