At least four persons, including a police inspector, have been confirmed dead in a multiple-truck accident that occurred on Thursday morning along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The tragic incident, which happened on the Kara Bridge, inward Mowe, involved no fewer than five articulated trucks. Several other occupants were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred after one of the trucks lost control and rammed into others, resulting in a chain collision that left the highway temporarily blocked.Emergency responders, including officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), police officers, and rescue teams, swiftly arrived at the scene to evacuate victims and clear the wreckage.

Traffic was reportedly at a standstill for hours as rescue operations continued. The FRSC has since urged motorists to drive cautiously and maintain safe distances between vehicles, especially along major highways.
