A yet-to-be-identified driver has lost his life in a lone accident that occurred under the Alaka Bridge in the Surulere area of Lagos State.The tragic incident, which happened around midnight, drew the attention of emergency responders and security agencies in the area.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force later arrived at the scene to manage traffic and evacuate the victim’s remains.
Eyewitnesses said the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, lost control before the car crashed into a concrete structure beneath the bridge. The impact of the collision reportedly left the vehicle badly damaged.
LASTMA officials confirmed that the wreckage has been cleared from the road to restore normal traffic flow, while the deceased’s body was taken away by the police for further investigation.Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially when driving at night, to avoid similar tragic incidents.
