A Nigerian man, Lekan Akinsoji, and his accomplice, Sundjata Keita, both aged 27 and residents of Forest Gate, East London, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 21-year-old Ahmed Deen-Jah.According to UK prosecutors, the fatal incident occurred in east London, where Deen-Jah was brutally stabbed during a confrontation involving the duo.
Despite emergency efforts by paramedics, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.Following extensive investigations, Akinsoji and Keita were arrested and charged with murder.
The court found them guilty after reviewing compelling evidence linking them to the attack.During sentencing, the judge described the killing as a “senseless act of violence”, stressing that the convicted men showed no regard for human life.
Both were handed life sentences, with a minimum term to be served before they can be considered for parole.Authorities in the UK reaffirmed their commitment to tackling knife crime and bringing perpetrators of such violent offences to justice.
