The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned self-styled relationship therapist and social media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged N13 million fraud linked to claims that she was battling breast cancer.
Blessing was brought before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She faces a six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds allegedly derived from unlawful activities.
According to the EFCC, the charges followed several petitions submitted by concerned individuals and organisations, including the Nigeria Cancer Society. The petitions alleged that Blessing publicly claimed she was suffering from Stage 4 breast cancer and appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to cover medical treatment expenses.
The anti-graft agency stated that many Nigerians responded to the appeal and donated money in good faith. However, investigations allegedly revealed that the medical report presented by Blessing to support her cancer diagnosis was falsified.
The EFCC further alleged that she obtained a total of N13 million from donors based on the false representation and subsequently retained the funds.
The latest arraignment adds to Blessing CEO’s growing legal troubles. On June 9, 2026, she was arraigned before Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja over a separate alleged N69.15 million fraud case involving charges of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
With the new charges, Blessing CEO is now facing three separate criminal cases before different courts in Lagos.
The case has been adjourned for further proceedings.
