Nigeria’s Minister of Defence has revealed that terrorist groups across the country are suffering significant losses as the Armed Forces intensify military operations in various regions.
According to the minister, the renewed offensive by the Nigerian military has led to the neutralization of several insurgents, the destruction of terrorist camps, and the recovery of weapons and other equipment used by the groups. He noted that coordinated operations by the army, navy, and air force are being strengthened to dismantle criminal networks and restore security in affected communities.
The minister stated that the ongoing operations are part of a broader strategy by the Federal Government to tackle terrorism, banditry, and other forms of violent crime threatening national stability. He added that troops have been carrying out targeted raids, aerial surveillance, and ground assaults on known terrorist hideouts.
He commended the dedication and bravery of the armed forces, emphasizing that the troops remain committed to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of citizens.
The Defence Minister also assured Nigerians that the military will continue to sustain pressure on terrorist groups until they are completely defeated. He urged citizens to support security agencies by providing credible information that can assist ongoing operations.
Authorities say the intensified operations are already yielding positive results, with many terrorists reportedly fleeing their strongholds due to sustained military pressure.
