Armed bandits have attacked a hospital in Kaduna State, abducting a medical doctor, five patients, and a security guard.The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the General Hospital in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.According to residents, the assailants stormed the facility around 1 a.m., shooting sporadically to scare people before whisking away their victims into the nearby forest.

A hospital staff member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen operated for over an hour without resistance. “They came in large numbers, heavily armed. We had to run for our lives. Unfortunately, they took our doctor, some patients, and even the security man on duty,” the source said.The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the attack, but security operatives have reportedly been deployed to the area to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.

The incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity in Kaduna, particularly in Birnin Gwari, which has witnessed repeated bandit attacks in recent months.
