The Nigerian Army has announced plans to recruit an additional 28,000 soldiers as part of efforts to strengthen its manpower and improve security operations across the country.
To support the increased recruitment, the Army has also opened a new training depot aimed at expanding its capacity to train fresh personnel. The move is expected to enhance the military’s readiness in tackling insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges affecting different parts of Nigeria.
Military authorities said the expansion is part of ongoing reforms to improve operational effectiveness and ensure the Army is better equipped to respond to emerging threats.
The recruitment drive is expected to provide more personnel for frontline operations while boosting the overall strength of the Nigerian Army in its fight against insecurity nationwide.
