Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old suspect during a stop-and-search operation after he was allegedly found in possession of a suspected human body part, two locally made pistols, and several items believed to have been stolen.
According to the police, the suspect was intercepted after officers noticed his suspicious behaviour during a routine security patrol. A thorough search reportedly led to the recovery of the suspected human body part, two locally fabricated firearms, live ammunition, and other exhibits suspected to be proceeds of criminal activities.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody, while the recovered items were secured as evidence.
Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the suspected human body part, establish whether the suspect is connected to ritual-related crimes or other criminal networks, and identify possible accomplices.
The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies. The command also assured the public that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law after investigations are concluded.
