Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 28-year-old suspected internet fraudster, popularly known as a “Yahoo boy,” in connection with the killing of his friend following a disagreement over a $1,000 transaction.

According to police sources, the incident occurred after the two friends reportedly fell out over proceeds from an online transaction. What began as a heated argument allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the suspect is said to have attacked his friend, leading to his death.

The victim was confirmed dead shortly after the incident, prompting residents of the area to alert security operatives. Police officers swiftly moved in and arrested the suspect, who is currently in custody while investigations continue.

The Delta State Police Command has condemned the act, describing it as a tragic outcome of greed and criminal lifestyle. Authorities say the suspect will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations, while urging youths to shun internet fraud and other criminal activities that often end in destruction and loss of life.
