The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to produce the Bauchi State Commissioner of Finance, Yakubu Adamu, in court on December 30 for his arraignment over an alleged N4.65 billion money laundering case.
The order followed the EFCC’s inability to present the commissioner in court despite filing charges against him. Adamu is accused of laundering the sum through multiple bank transactions linked to the Bauchi State Government.
The presiding judge directed the anti-graft agency to ensure Adamu’s appearance on the next adjourned date, stressing that the case must proceed without further delay.
Yakubu Adamu is expected to take his plea when he appears in court, as the EFCC continues its prosecution in the high-profile case.
