Delta State is set to receive between 300 and 400 Nigerian Army personnel as the military moves to establish a new Air Defence Unit in the state.
The deployment is part of efforts by the Nigerian Army to strengthen security, improve its response capability and protect critical national assets across Delta and surrounding areas.
The proposed Air Defence Unit is expected to enhance the military’s ability to monitor and respond to potential aerial and other security threats while supporting existing security operations in the state.
The arrival of the troops is also expected to boost security coverage and reinforce the activities of security agencies operating in Delta State.
The development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to expand its operational capacity and strengthen the protection of strategic locations and national assets across the country.
