Wike’s Son Denies Receiving $2.1m for Abuja Land Deal, Alleges Signature Was Forged

Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied receiving $2.1 million in connection with an alleged Abuja land transaction, telling an FCT High Court that the signature on documents presented by the claimants was forged.

Jordan, a lawyer, made the statement on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, while being cross-examined by counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

The case, marked CV/008/2026, was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited. The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of two parcels of land measuring 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape districts of Abuja.

According to the claimants, they allegedly paid $2.1 million in cash on September 26, 2025, for the proposed transaction. They claimed that $2 million was intended for the FCT Minister, while the remaining $100,000 was allegedly Jordan’s facilitation fee.

Jordan, however, rejected the allegations and told the court that he did not receive any money from the claimants and did not sign any document relating to a land deal.

He also denied knowing the claimants or an individual identified as Onor Sandy, whom the claimants alleged was with him during the transaction.

Jordan further maintained that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, when the claimants alleged the money was handed over. He said he travelled using his American passport.

Following his testimony, the court had ordered him to produce the passport. He presented the document at Wednesday’s proceedings, with a copy retained for the court’s records while the original was returned to him.

The court had also ordered Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on plain sheets of paper to assist in examining the disputed signature.

In his defence, Jordan has challenged the authenticity of the document allegedly bearing his signature, noting that the passport number appearing on it was not his current number and was linked to a passport that expired in 2022.

The claimants have also alleged that a joint venture agreement was entered into for the construction of 24 six-bedroom detached duplexes in Guzape New Extension and Katampe New Extension, with the proposed project reportedly involving $4.2 million in funding.

Jordan has denied the alleged transaction and maintained that the claims against him are unfounded.

The court has not yet determined whether the alleged $2.1 million payment was made, whether the disputed signature is genuine, or whether Jordan was involved in the alleged land transaction.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji adjourned the case to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of the trial.
