Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about an alleged confrontation with a US club owner who reportedly banned Afrobeats from his venue before later attempting to book the singer.
Davido, while recounting the incident, said the club owner had previously taken a stance against Afrobeats at his establishment. According to the singer, the situation became more personal after an earlier incident involving the venue.
Davido revealed that when the same club owner later approached his team about booking him, he decided to respond in a way that would make his position clear.
“I gave him a crazy bill,” Davido said, suggesting that he deliberately set a very high performance fee for the proposed booking.
The singer also claimed that he mobilised members of his 30BG crew to target the club owner’s social media page following the earlier disagreement.
