Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to explain why the state’s bank account was frozen without a court order.
Adeleke described the action as illegal and a violation of due process, insisting that no government account should be restricted without following the law.
The governor said the account freeze has disrupted the smooth running of government activities and could affect the delivery of essential services to residents.
He urged the EFCC to immediately provide a legal basis for its action and reverse the decision if it cannot justify it in line with the law.
The EFCC has not yet issued an official response to the governor’s demand.
