The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ekiti State Command, says it has destroyed more than 51 hectares of cannabis plantations and arrested 281 suspected drug offenders over the past year as part of its ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and abuse.

The State Commander of the NDLEA disclosed this while highlighting the command’s achievements, noting that the operations were carried out across different parts of the state to curb the cultivation, distribution, and use of illicit drugs.

According to the commander, the agency also seized significant quantities of illegal substances during various raids and intensified public awareness campaigns aimed at educating residents, especially young people, about the dangers of drug abuse.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against drug-related crimes and urged members of the public to support the agency by providing credible information that would help identify drug traffickers and cannabis farms.

The NDLEA assured residents that it would continue working with other security agencies and community leaders to ensure Ekiti remains free from the menace of illicit drugs.
