The Anambra State Police Command has neutralised four suspected members of a secessionist group during a security operation in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police, the operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the activities of the suspects in the area. Security operatives engaged the armed men in a gun battle, resulting in the deaths of four of the suspects.
The command disclosed that several items were recovered from the scene, including firearms, ammunition, and vehicles believed to have been stolen. The recovered weapons are expected to aid ongoing investigations into criminal activities linked to the group.

Police authorities stated that the operation forms part of efforts to combat violent crimes, armed attacks, and activities of criminal elements operating under the guise of secessionist agitation in the state.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across Anambra State, assuring residents that efforts would continue to dismantle criminal networks and protect lives and property.
Investigations are ongoing, while the recovered exhibits have been taken into police custody for further examination.
