Panic gripped residents and commuters in Kogi State after suspected terrorists launched a deadly attack along the Isanlu Road, killing two persons and abducting five travellers.
According to reports, the gunmen ambushed vehicles travelling along the road, opening fire on unsuspecting passengers before whisking away several victims into the surrounding forest.
Two people reportedly lost their lives during the attack, while five others were taken captive by the assailants. The incident caused chaos on the highway as motorists fled for safety.
Local sources disclosed that security operatives and vigilante groups have begun efforts to track down the kidnappers and rescue the abducted victims.
The latest attack has heightened concerns over the growing insecurity on major roads in the area, with residents calling on authorities to strengthen security measures and protect travellers from criminal elements.
