Former Rivers State governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has declared himself the most qualified presidential aspirant within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Amaechi stated that his confidence is rooted in his years of political experience and public service, emphasizing that his track record places him ahead of other potential contenders within the party.
According to him, he has held key leadership positions over the years, including serving as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former minister argued that his broad experience in governance and administration has equipped him with the capacity to lead Nigeria effectively if given the opportunity.
Amaechi also stressed the need for competent leadership in the country, maintaining that experience and a proven record of service should play a major role in determining who emerges as a presidential candidate.
His declaration comes as political activities and early alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum, with conversations around opposition coalitions and party positioning already intensifying.
