The Federal Government on Wednesday withdrew the terrorism financing charge previously filed against former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and his son, Abdulaziz Malami.
However, the case took a new turn as both were re-arraigned on a fresh charge bordering on alleged possession of arms.
The development came during court proceedings, where the prosecution formally dropped the earlier terrorism-related allegations and proceeded with the amended charge.
Details of the new allegations were not fully disclosed at the time of filing, but the matter is expected to continue in court in the coming days.
