The Edo State Government has arrested six individuals over alleged involvement in the vandalism of public infrastructure across the state.
The suspects were reportedly apprehended following intensified enforcement efforts aimed at curbing the destruction of public assets, which authorities say has been on the rise in recent times.
In a related development, the government has issued a 21-day quit notice to scavengers operating within Benin City and its environs. Officials say the directive is part of measures to restore order and protect critical infrastructure from further damage.
The state government warned that anyone who fails to comply with the directive after the expiration of the deadline will face strict enforcement actions in line with existing laws.
