At least seven residents are feared to have been kidnapped following a violent attack by suspected bandits on Adanla community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, triggering panic and heightened tension in the area.
According to local sources, the assailants stormed the community late at night, firing sporadic gunshots to scare residents before forcefully taking away their victims. The attack reportedly lasted several minutes, leaving many villagers traumatized as they fled into nearby bushes for safety.
Eyewitnesses said the bandits moved from house to house during the raid, abducting men and women whose identities were yet to be fully ascertained at the time of reporting. Some residents also claimed that valuables were stolen during the operation.
The incident has heightened fears among locals, who say attacks by criminal elements have been increasing in surrounding communities. Many residents are now calling on the government and security agencies to urgently strengthen security presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
Efforts to confirm the exact number of abducted persons are ongoing, as some families are still accounting for their loved ones. Security operatives have reportedly been alerted, and a search-and-rescue operation is expected to commence to track the perpetrators and rescue the victims.

Meanwhile, community leaders have appealed for calm while urging residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
