The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a suspected robber and recovered a stolen motorcycle following a hot pursuit in the Olorunda Aba area of the state.
According to police sources, operatives on routine patrol spotted a suspect riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner and ordered him to stop. The rider allegedly ignored the directive and attempted to flee, prompting a chase by the officers.
The pursuit ended in Olorunda Aba, where the suspect was apprehended and the motorcycle recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycle had earlier been reported stolen.
The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently assisting police with ongoing investigations. The recovered motorcycle has been secured as an exhibit, while efforts are underway to identify and arrest other members of the suspected robbery gang.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order across the state and urged residents to continue providing timely and useful information to security agencies to help curb criminal activities.
