Troops Rescue 12 Abducted Teenage Girls in Borno

News

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued 12 teenage girls abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Mussa District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area, Borno State.

According to military sources, the rescue operation was carried out on Saturday after troops launched a coordinated offensive in the area following credible intelligence on the victims’ location. The soldiers reportedly engaged the terrorists in a brief firefight, forcing them to flee and leaving the abducted girls behind.

The rescued teenagers were immediately evacuated to a military medical facility for screening and necessary care. Authorities say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to flush out remaining terrorist elements and restore safety to communities in the region.

Security forces have intensified patrols across vulnerable areas as the search continues for other victims still in captivity.
