
Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have eliminated four suspected armed militia members and recovered a cache of weapons during a swift operation conducted in Usmanu Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation was launched following reports of renewed communal clashes in the area. According to military authorities, the troops responded immediately to distress calls and moved to the scene to prevent further escalation of violence and protect residents.
Upon arrival, the soldiers engaged the armed group in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the death of four militia members. Several weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation, including rifles and other dangerous items believed to have been used to attack the community.

The Army described the successful mission as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability across conflict-prone communities in the state. It also reaffirmed its commitment to working with local leaders, security agencies and residents to prevent further violence.
Residents of Usmanu Village have been urged to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report suspicious activities to authorities. The military assured the public that operations to secure the entire Karim Lamido axis are still underway.
