The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of successful air interdiction missions across Borno and Katsina States, neutralizing several ISWAP/Boko Haram fighters and destroying their operational hideouts.
According to military sources, the coordinated airstrikes were launched after intelligence reports confirmed that terrorist groups were mobilizing to launch fresh attacks on communities and security locations in the two states. Fighter jets from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Hadarin Daji were immediately deployed to the identified enclaves.
In Borno State, the air interdiction missions targeted insurgent camps around the Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad axis. Surveillance footage reportedly showed dozens of terrorists assembling for an offensive before the airstrikes struck the location, disrupting the plot and eliminating key fighters.
Similarly, in Katsina State, NAF aircraft hit a cluster of bandit hideouts used as staging points for attacks on vulnerable villages. Several structures were destroyed, and fleeing militants were tracked and neutralized.
Military authorities said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, degrade their capabilities, and prevent imminent threats to civilian populations.
The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside other security agencies to ensure peace and stability across conflict-prone areas in the North East and North West.
