The Kano State Hisbah Board has called off the much-publicized wedding between two popular TikTok personalities, Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira Yar Guda.According to reports, the religious police intervened following concerns that the planned union did not align with Islamic teachings and moral standards upheld in the state.
The pair, known for their comedic and sometimes controversial skits on TikTok, had recently announced their intention to get married — a development that generated massive buzz among fans on social media.

Confirming the cancellation, a senior official of the Hisbah Board said the decision was taken after careful investigation and consultation with religious leaders and the families involved.
The official explained that the board’s action was aimed at preserving moral decency and preventing what it described as “un-Islamic influences” in the society.
Both TikTokers have yet to publicly react to the development, but the news has continued to spark mixed reactions online, with fans expressing disappointment while others commended Hisbah for standing by religious principles.
