
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Festac Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Matilda Ngbaronye.
According to reports, CSP Ngbaronye passed away shortly after undergoing surgery, though details surrounding the medical procedure have not been made public.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, described her death as a great loss to the force, noting that she was a dedicated, disciplined, and result-oriented officer who served with distinction.
Before her posting to the Festac Division, CSP Ngbaronye held several key positions within the command, including serving as the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (DPPRO), where she was known for her professionalism and calm approach to public communication.
Tributes have since poured in from colleagues, subordinates, and members of the public who remembered her as a committed officer and compassionate leader.Her death has left the Lagos State Police Command in mourning, as the force bids farewell to one of its finest senior female officers.
