The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two travellers following an attack by suspected bandits along the SanluโIdofin axis in Yagba East Local Government Area.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the armed assailants intercepted a vehicle conveying three passengers. While two victims were whisked away into the forest, one person managed to escape during the attack.
Police authorities say operatives have been deployed to the area, and a search-and-rescue operation is currently underway to track down the criminals and secure the release of the abducted victims.
The Command urged residents to remain calm, assuring the public that efforts are being intensified to enhance security across vulnerable routes in the state.
