A tragic incident has rocked Kaduna State as Venerable Achi, a respected Anglican priest, has reportedly died while in the captivity of his abductors.
According to local sources, the cleric and his wife were kidnapped by armed men during an attack in the early hours of the morning. The gunmen allegedly invaded their residence, whisking the couple away before security operatives could intervene.
While his wife was later released after negotiations, Venerable Achi was said to have remained in captivity. Reports emerging on Thursday indicate that the priest has died, though the exact circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.

Community members and church authorities have been thrown into mourning, expressing shock over the loss of the clergyman. They described him as a devoted servant of God who was deeply committed to his congregation and community.
Security agencies have yet to release an official statement, but efforts are reportedly ongoing to track down the perpetrators and investigate the circumstances that led to the priest’s death.
The incident adds to the growing concerns over insecurity in Kaduna and other parts of northern Nigeria, where kidnapping-for-ransom and violent attacks have remained a persistent challenge.
