Cambodia arrests 57 South Koreans over alleged cyberscam operations

Cambodian authorities have arrested 57 South Korean nationals for their alleged involvement in transnational cyberscam activities, the country’s government commission announced on Thursday.The arrests come just days after dozens of South Koreans accused of participating in similar illicit online networks were repatriated to their home country.

Officials said the suspects were detained following coordinated raids targeting criminal groups operating across Cambodia, which has become a regional hub for online fraud schemes often linked to human trafficking and forced labor.

Authorities added that investigations are ongoing and that the arrested individuals will face legal action in accordance with Cambodian law.
