The Niger State Government has held a mass burial for victims of the tragic petrol tanker explosion that claimed dozens of lives in Essa village, Katcha Local Government Area.
The solemn ceremony, attended by state officials, community leaders, and families of the deceased, was conducted to honor the memory of those who perished in the inferno.
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, who was represented at the burial, described the incident as deeply painful and extended condolences to the affected families.
He assured that the government would not only support the victimsโ relatives but also provide free and comprehensive medical treatment to all survivors receiving care in various hospitals.
He further directed relevant agencies to intensify public enlightenment on road safety and the dangers of storing or scooping fuel from accident scenes to prevent future tragedies.
