Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, has declared that the South-South region is now firmly under the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC), boasting that former President Goodluck Jonathan would stand no chance if he decides to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking to journalists, Oshiomhole maintained that the political landscape of the South-South has changed drastically since Jonathan’s time in office. He noted that the APC has made significant inroads across the region, gaining the trust and support of the people through developmental projects, improved governance, and inclusive leadership.

The former Edo State Governor emphasized that the days when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the region are long gone. According to him, the APC has continued to strengthen its grassroots structures and build a more united front ahead of the next general elections.

“Let me say it clearly — the South-South is no longer the stronghold of the PDP. We have redefined the politics of the region. If former President Jonathan decides to contest in 2027, we will defeat him squarely,” Oshiomhole asserted.

He further highlighted the achievements of the current administration under the APC-led government, stressing that the party has delivered on many of its promises and remains the best option for the nation’s progress and stability.
