A wave of violence has left communities in Plateau and Borno States in mourning after separate attacks by armed groups.In Plateau State, suspected bandits stormed Panyam District in Mangu Local Government Area and brutally beheaded a local farmer.

Residents said the attack, which occurred in the early hours, sparked fear across surrounding villages, forcing many to flee their farmlands.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, but locals described him as a well-known farmer in the area.Meanwhile, in Borno State, Boko Haram insurgents carried out another deadly raid, killing one person and setting ablaze a traditional ruler’s palace. Eyewitnesses revealed that the terrorists invaded the community late at night, firing sporadically before torching the palace, which served as both a cultural and administrative hub for the people.Security agencies have since been deployed to both states.

Military sources confirmed ongoing operations aimed at tracking down the perpetrators, while local vigilante groups have intensified patrols to prevent further attacks.Community leaders in both Plateau and Borno have condemned the violence, calling on the Federal Government to step up efforts in safeguarding rural communities from relentless terrorist and bandit incursions.
