Former Imo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, who once represented the Okigwe State Constituency, has regained his freedom after being kidnapped by the notorious gang led by the dreaded criminal, Gentle the Yahoo.
Hon. Ogbu was abducted after visiting the gang’s hideout to negotiate peace ahead of a relative’s burial. Despite collecting money from him, the gang held him hostage and dragged him deeper into their forest camp.
The gang leader, Gentle the Yahoo, alongside his deputy, Angel Make Up, later released a chilling video parading the lawmaker and threatening to execute him unless security forces withdrew from Okigwe.
In a decisive commando-style operation, the Nigerian Army stormed the group’s stronghold in Aku, Okigwe. The raid resulted in the death of Gentle the Yahoo, Angel Make Up, and several other gang members. More than a dozen hostages, including Hon. Ogbu, were successfully rescued alive.
