NDLEA Nabs 29 Suspects, Seizes Over 10,000kg of Illicit Drugs in Edo

The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, arresting 29 suspects and confiscating a total of 10,359 kilograms of illicit substances within the month of April.

According to the agency, the arrests were made during a series of coordinated operations carried out across different parts of the state. The seizures included various banned and controlled drugs, highlighting the scale of illegal drug activities in the region.

Officials noted that the crackdown forms part of the NDLEA’s intensified efforts to curb the distribution and abuse of narcotics, as well as dismantle drug networks operating within Edo State.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum through intelligence-driven operations, community engagement, and collaboration with other security bodies. Residents were also urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to aid ongoing efforts to rid the state of drug-related crimes.

Investigations into the arrests are ongoing, with the suspects expected to face prosecution in accordance with the law.
