
Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai have thwarted coordinated attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in parts of Borno and Yobe states, eliminating at least 29 terrorists during intense counter-offensive operations.
According to military sources, the insurgents launched attempted assaults on troops’ locations in the early hours of the day, targeting communities and security formations. However, soldiers swiftly repelled the attacks with superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to retreat.
In the aftermath of the gun battles, 29 insurgents were confirmed neutralized, while several others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds. Troops also recovered assorted weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, and other logistics used by the fleeing fighters.
Security officials said the operations were part of ongoing clearance and dominance missions aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts and preventing further infiltration of vulnerable communities across the North-East.
Operation Hadin Kai, the military task force spearheading counter-insurgency efforts in the region, reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and ensuring the safety of residents in Borno, Yobe, and surrounding states.
