Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed six Boko Haram terrorists while foiling an early morning attack on their Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Kangar, located in the Mallam Fatori area of Borno State.According to military sources, the insurgents attempted to infiltrate the base in the early hours of Tuesday but were met with heavy firepower from the vigilant troops. The fierce gun duel reportedly lasted several minutes, forcing the terrorists to retreat after suffering significant casualties.Six of the attackers were confirmed dead, while several others escaped with gunshot wounds. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the scene.

The troops have since intensified patrols and clearance operations in the surrounding areas to prevent further attempts by the insurgents.Mallam Fatori, situated in the northern axis of Borno State near the Lake Chad region, has remained a hotspot for Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) activities.Military authorities commended the gallant soldiers for their resilience and reaffirmed their commitment to restoring lasting peace in the North-East region.
