Nigerian singer and songwriter Fave has revealed that her hit collaboration with Davido, Kante, was initially rejected by three different artistes before it eventually became a success.
According to Fave, she had originally sent the song to three artistes with hopes of collaborating with them, but they all declined, saying they were not interested in the track.
Despite the rejections, Fave remained confident in the song and later shared it with Davido. The Afrobeats superstar embraced the record and agreed to feature on it, helping transform it into one of the standout songs on his acclaimed Timeless album.
Reflecting on the experience, Fave said the journey taught her the importance of persistence and believing in her craft. She noted that a rejection does not determine a song’s worth, as the right person can see the value others may overlook.
Since its release, Kante has become a fan favorite and one of the most successful collaborations from Davido’s Timeless project, earning praise from listeners across the world.
